Die Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung, die Dreilinden gGmbH und filia.die frauenstiftung fordern die Einrichtung einer „Projektgruppe Umsetzung des LSBTI-Inklusionskonzeptes“ im Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ).
SPD, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen und FDP haben sich wiederholt und klar zur Geltung der Yogyakarta-Prinzipien und der Bedeutung von Menschenrechten in der internationalen Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung ausgesprochen. Als Regierungsparteien haben sie Gelegenheit, diesen Bekenntnissen Taten folgen zu lassen.

Am 29. Juni 2021 fand die hochkarätig besetzte (englischsprachige) Online-Veranstaltung „Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen unterstützen: LSBTI Inklusionsstrategien für die Außenpolitik und Entwicklungszusammenarbeit“ statt. Wer nicht dabei sein konnte, kann die Veranstaltung auf YouTube sehen.
Online talk with experts from Sweden and Canada
On 12 May 2021 the Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation (HES) held an online talk about LGBTI inclusion in the development cooperation work of both Sweden and Canada. The event was hosted by Sarah Kohrt. The guests from Sweden were Birgitta Weibahr from the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and Marie Månson from the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Rights (RFSL). Doug Kerr, Executive Director of Dignity Network Canada, a coalition of Canadian organizations supporting LGBTI human rights, provided information from a Canadian perspective.

Am 12. Mai 2021 führte die Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung (HES) einen Online Talk zum Thema LSBTI-Inklusion in Schwedens und Kanadas Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (EZ) durch. Die Veranstaltung wurde von Sarah Kohrt moderiert. Aus Schweden nahmen Birgitta Weibahr von der Agentur für Internationale Entwicklungszusammenarbeit Sida und Marie Månson vom Verband für LSBTI-Rechte RFSL teil. Doug Kerr, Geschäftsführer des Dignity Network Canada, einem Netzwerk kanadischer Organisationen, die zu LSBTI und Menschenrechten arbeiten, lieferte Informationen aus kanadischer Perspektive.

On 3 March 2021 the cabinet approved the federal government’s “LGBTI inclusion plan for foreign policy and development cooperation”.

Germany is expected to have its first multi-ministerial LGBTI inclusion plan for development cooperation and foreign policy. The federal government is thereby addressing long-standing calls from civil society, and aligning with countries like Sweden, Canada and the Netherlands. At Forum 4 of the Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation’s conference on 3 December 2020, representatives of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ), the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Foreign Office (AA) discussed the current state of the LGBTI inclusion plan with Sarah Kohrt from the Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation.
