Die GIZ Arbeitsgruppe zu “Gender/HIV/Wellbeing” in Südafrika und Lesotho lädt in Kooperation mit der Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung herzlich in zu einer Online-Veranstaltung am 17. Mai 2022.

GIZ South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini Gender HIV/AIDS & Employee Wellbeing Working Group invites you to an MS TEAMS event on the 17th of May 2022 from 10:00 till 11:30 am to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. The 17th of May is the day back in 1990, where the World Health Organisation (WHO) declassified “homosexuality” as a mental disorder.
This year’s theme is “Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Rights”, which many forms of advocacy are possible to remind us that many “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and all other people with diverse sexual orientations and identities” across the world experience high levels of violence, hate and discrimination due to their sexual orientation.
We will have speakers to share knowledge on the Mashakane project, it’s cooperation partners (e.g., Coalition of African Lesbians) and the situation of LGBTQI persons and the work of human rights activists in Southern African countries.
The aim of this day is to highlight the gross human rights violations of people that identify as one of the sexualities under the LGBTQI+ acronym.

Dieser Webtalk ist eine Kooperation der GIZ Arbeitsgruppe zu “Gender/HIV/Wellbeing” in Südafrika und Lesotho mit der Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung und fand am 17. Mai 22 mit rund 90 Teilnehmenden statt. Aktivist*innen des Masakhane-Projekts aus Südafrika diskutierten mit Vertreter*innen der deutschen staatlichen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und Ortskräften über die Frage guter und nachhaltiger Unterstützung von LSBTI-Projekten. Anlass war der internationale Tags gegen Homophobie, Biphobie, Transphobie und Interphobie IDAHOBIT.
Eine Veranstaltung im Rahmen des Projekts: „Do no harm – Risiken für LSBTI in der internationalen Projektarbeit minimieren“ der Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung. Alle Beiträge im Rahmen des Projekts sind im Blog unter dem Tag „DNH-2022″ zu finden.
