Intersex bodies are abused, studied, tested and “corrected”
Julius Kaggwa is an intersex and trans activist in Uganda. He directs the organization “Support Initiative for People with Atypical Sex Development” (SIPD Uganda), which seeks to sustainably change the attitudes toward intersex people. Born in the Kibuye part of Kampala in Uganda, he is a practicing Christian raising four children together with his wife.

Mikhail (Misha) Tumasov (46) is an activist for LGBTQ+ human rights from Russia. He dreamed of becoming a priest. But as a gay man, he was compelled to take another path. Today he works with e.g. the Russian LGBT Network.
Irene Garoës is an activist who is passionate about feminist movement building at the community and national level with marginalised groups in Namibia. She leads the lesbian projects of the Women’s Leadership Centre, a feminist women’s rights organisation based in Namibia.
Lilith Raza is a queer trans activist from Pakistan who has lived in Germany since 2012. She promotes the rights of LGBTIQ+ refugees, works for the LSVD’s “Queer Refugees Deutschland” project (Gay and Lesbian Foundation in Germany), and is active in queer networks throughout Europe.

For the last two years Europe’s border have slammed open and shut. Conversations revolve around who’s had all their vaccinations and who has not. Positions are hardening. The coronavirus has given Europe’s citizens a taste of how unpredictable the world can turn.
On 19 June 2020, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution requesting the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights “to prepare a report on systemic racism, violations of international human rights law against Africans and people of African descent by law enforcement agencies, especially those incidents that resulted in the death of George Floyd and other Africans and people of African descent, to contribute to accountability and redress for victims”.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) must set up a project group to implement the LGBTI inclusion plan!
